Book Review 4
These stories are meant to inspire readers and teach us from the examples of others who did it right by hanging on to Jesus and Jesus alone, through even the hardest trial of their lives. One of the stories shows alot of that like the story of Anila and Perveen. Two girls about 17/18 years old who live in Pakistan and they are brutally tortured and killed for what they believe in. Anila converted Perveen who was Muslim into Christianity. Perveen’s parents strongly disapproved of this and tried to force her back to her old Religion, but she ran and her parents called the police and they arrested Alina and her pastor. She was beaten and tortured for the entire day and was released. Months later Perveen’s parents found her and they sent her brother to kill Perveen. Then Alina was arrested again and suffered more for a month and through thousands of prayers around the world she was released and acquitted of all charges. To this very day she hides from the radical Muslims strong in the Lord who has given her the strength to carry on doing God’s will.
People around the world Muslim, Atheist, Jewish, Catholic, everyday people who don’t have a care for Religion, all sizes, race, people, and colors have all found God and Jesus Christ. The stories in which they converted and have stayed with the Lord are amazing and interesting to read about the power of God at work. Ivan was a Private in the Soviet Union during the cold war. He always believed in God and sang in worship to God, but everyday he was interrogated by the Communists who tried to re-educate him into believing in there Atheist ways of Science. When an Angel descended to Earth to see him the Angel gave him encouraging words from God to not be afraid because he was with him. Then he grew even stronger and happier in the Lord and told of God to his comrades in the barracks. Soon they were converted, but then his officers tried to strip him of his faith and ordered him stand in the cold Russian winter in a summer uniform until he renounced his faith. He stood there for an entire day praying and praising the lord. He was cold but never died, for God was with him and he never gave up on God and for twelve nights he was ordered to do the same thing. Soon however the communists killed him and he is now in heaven enjoying the riches he earned. His experience in life has inspired me never to lose faith in God no matter what happens to me.
I loved this book for its inspirational text and stories I have read, my new view of the world, and for helping me to stay stronger in God. I recommend it to everyone so they may to read about the greatness of God through real life stories and events that happened in people’s lives and they may develop a relationship or a stronger one with the Lord. I rate this great piece of work a Five Out Of Five and I pray you find this book as great as I do. It is an interesting, spiritual, and inspiring ride that shows you what is truely happening in the lives of Christians in countries who oppose it or even God. I ask that you pray for these countries and people so that one day they to may find the joy and love of the Lord and pray for all those who suffer by them so God may give them the strength to over come there obstacles. Real life events that are happening today have been foretold by God thousands of years ago. Things like economy crash, new world order, even natural disasters have all been predicted by the Bible for the Ending of Days. That however is not the only thing that has been referenced in the Bible, peoples’ lives. In Jesus Freaks the stories that they have are somehow references to the Bible that show that the Bible is the truth and everything that has been said in the Bible is coming to reality. Like the story of Alina and Perveen, Perveen was killed by her own brother, because she converted and her own father approved of it. Jesus says, “Brothers will give their own brothers to be killed, and fathers will give their own children to be killed. Children will fight against their own parents and have them put to death. All people who keep their faith until the end will be saved”(Mathew 10:21,22). Doesn’t the same thing Jesus say happen in the World today?
